The partners are pleased to welcome two new associates: Paul Claire and Sadira Garfinkel. Paul joins us after several years at Justice Canada. His experience in leasing, asset and purchasing agreements, and financing will be an asset to our corporate clients. Sadira completed her articles with us and just received her call to the Manitoba Bar on June 19, 2014. Her preferred areas of practice are civil litigation, focusing on insurance, personal injury, commercial and construction.

The University of Winnipeg and the CBC will be hosting an international conference entitled “Holding Power to Account: Investigative Journalism, Democracy and Human Rights” which will be held in Winnipeg, June 13-15, 2014. Its aim is to bring journalists, academics and the public together to debate some of the important issues that investigative journalism can help illuminate. Robert L. Tapper, Q.C will be speaking on a panel titled “Libel Chill: How the Powerful Fight Back, and What Journalists Can Do About It”. Robert will bring his many years of media law experience to this prestigious conference.
